Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Youtube, the list goes on. It seems the majority of society has turned to these Social Media venues to increase business and marketing strategies. The Dinwiddie Chamber of Commerce is right in there with everyone and in October we will be hosting a Workshop to teach our members and other business members of the community how to better apply the Social Media to its marketing plan.

As the holidays approach, our local businesses are looking for ways to increase their business, sustain their presence here in the county and drive business through their doors. Agri-business is an a hot topic and conversation has begun with the Secretary of Agriculture on what Dinwiddie can do to increase its presence in the Agri-market. Between trees and farm land, Dinwiddie is a perfect spot for agri-business up-starts. We as a community need to look closer at the kinds of creative agri-businesses we can start, but also the kinds of agri-business we want to pull into our county. Most often agri-business does not over power the landscape, nor require huge outlays of services to perform. For more information on agri-business opportunities Dinwiddie County, contact Greg Reid, Economic Development Department 469-4500.
